Summer Classes

I hope everyone has been having a great summer!! I know I've enjoyed the time off, but now I'm missing dance. :)
So here are the details for summer technique classes:
Classes will be Tues. and Thurs., starting tomorrow, July 12th
Times are 9:30 am - 10:30 am, ages 11 and up
10:30 am - 11:30 am, ages 7 to 10
11:30 am - 12:15 pm, ages 4 to 6
Cost will be $5 per class. Hope to see you there!! :) Please help spread the word around. I will be sending out emails and texts later this evening.
Also, we will be participating in Wellington Pioneer Days again this year. I should have more info about that next week. The dates are July 22nd and 23rd. We will most likely be dancing on the 23rd.
National Dance Day is July 30th this year. We will be learning the National Dance Day routines in the summer classes and then perform them with Encore Dance Studio in the park at International Days on Friday, July 29th. I will have more information about that next week as well and have the links to the routines so your dancer can practice/learn them at home. We will also be having a float in the parade on the 30th so any help or ideas for that would be very appreciated.

Dance Technica’s March Madness

Hello everyone. Like always, we have a lot of important information in this note. So please, read through it carefully.

Wednesday, March 9^th is the Carbon High Drill Team Spring Showcase. The classes performing are the Stars (Monster Mash) and Divas (Take Me Out to the Ball Game). Dancers need to be at the high school, in costume, by 5:45 pm. The Showcase begins at 6 pm. Everyone is welcome to come and support our dancers.

Saturday, March 12^th is Pinnacle Canyon’s annual Wild West Carnival fundraiser. Classes performing are the Super Minis (Never Grow Up), Minis (Little Bitty) and Elites (Why Wait). All dancers will need to be at the school and dressed in costume by 5:15 pm. Anyone is welcome to attend this event. Dinner is from 5-7 pm and the carnival and silent auction go from 5-10 pm. Remember, if you would like to purchase a dinner ticket, please let Miss Tori know.

Dance Technica class pictures will be on Saturday, April 2^nd at the studio. Bryner Photography will be taking our pictures. We will be handing out order forms with prices and the picture schedule next week as well as information on what costume the group photo will be taken in. If you can’t make it on this day, you need to make arrangements with Bryner Photography to schedule your own appointment.

Make sure you have the dates for the recital on your calendars. Friday, May 20^th, dress rehearsal and Saturday, May 21^st, recital. This will be at Mont Harmon Jr. High.

The High School Drill Team is having their competition the weekend of April 29^th and 30^th. Solo competitions will be on the 29^th and groups will be on the 30^th. We will be attending the competition this year. Each class will compete with at least one group routine. Once I get more information about the competition, I will send home a note with more details and the cost for each dancer.

We will be putting in a shoe order at the end of the month. If your dancer is in need of new shoes, please let her teacher know so she can get sized. You have until March 31^st to place your order.

Don’t forget dancers have until the end of April to get their splits flat and donuts touching. Keep stretching at home. We would love to see everyone’s name on the wall! If you have any questions about anything, please give me a call.

September Note

Hi all. Here is the September note that was went home this week.

Welcome back dancers and parents! We hope you had a great summer. Here are a few things to remind you about and a few new things as well.
We have made some changes to the schedule. Please make sure you look closely at the new schedule on the back of this note (the new schedule is two posts down from this one). The classes that are affected by the changes are: Adv. Ballet, Pointe, Angels, Divas, Beg. Hip Hop and Beg. Ballet. If these new times don’t work for you, please let Tori know as soon as possible. This new schedule will begin next week (Sept. 20th). Also, the Minis class (Thurs. 3:30) is getting quite full. If we have a few more girls sign up for the class, we might end up splitting the class. The other class time would be on Wednesdays at 3:45. We will let you know if we end up doing this. The Modern class has space in it if any dancers are interested in taking the class. It’s a great class to let dancers explore new ways of moving their body. We hope to see you there!
Don’t forget that the alleyway next to the studio is one way only – OUT. Please drive in through the empty lot with the white fence just south of the studio, and exit through the alley by the studio. Also, please be aware of dancers and other children as you are dropping off and picking up your dancer. We don’t want anyone to get hurt. As a common courtesy, please leave the first two parking spaces next to the building open for the people who live in the apartment above the studio.
Just a reminder that we will be very strict with the dance attire policy this year. Please make sure you come to dance DRESSED to dance. Thank you.
Don’t forget that “Bring a FRIEND Day” is the week of September 20th. Invite anyone and everyone to come and check out what you do at Dance Technica. We would love to see our classes full of new faces that week.
There is a tuition drop box on the wall, inside, next to the door. You will need to deposit your tuition in this box. Please make sure the dancers full name is on the memo section of your check. If you are paying with cash, you will still need to get a receipt.
Please make sure you put your dancer’s name on all shoes. We don’t want anyone loosing their shoes. Also, we have put a poster up in the studio of dancewear items (shoes, leotards, tights, etc.) that you may purchase through the studio. Come in and check it out.
On Friday, October 8th, we will be having a costume sale at the studio from 4pm to 7pm. We will be selling all extra costumes from past years. Come and check out what we have! This would be a great time to get that perfect Christmas gift for that little ballerina on your list or just get some fun dress-up clothes to put in the dress-up box.
We are very excited for this new dance year and hope you are too. We have some great new ideas to share and look forward to working with all our wonderful dancers! Dance Technica’s goal is to keep our dancers looking beautiful onstage and increase their technique. Thanks again for all your support and we look forward to sharing this great year with you.

Schedule Changes

I just made a few changes to the schedule, so make sure you've got it. :) Also, just to clear up some confusion, the Super Minis only need to sign up for one class. It is the same class, just two different times. I would like to fill the 11:00 class first. :) Thanks and if you have questions, you know what to do. :)
